Prolink is a foreign partnership that was established in 1997 to serve the IT
sector by providing products and services for a wide range of distribution
companies and government associations.
Focusing on the fundamental areas of IT security, data storage, and KVM
switches, Prolink seeks to satisfy our customers by offering products,
services, marketing, sales and post-sales technical support.
On the data storage side, we work together with our customers to define their
needs, develop suitable project frameworks and implement appropriate solutions
in order to provide customers with high availability systems. In addition, in
order to create solutions that are effective and lasting.
Prolink organizes training and certification programs for the products we
represent, including product awareness, system installation & set up, and
end-user training. Prolink is looking for a System Engineer who would
contribute her/his experience for our organization and working in the Data
Storage department.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; training users in complex
topics, making presentations to an internal audience,and interacting positively
with upper management.
* Independent problem-solving, self-direction.
* Comfortable with some aspects of operating system administration; for
example, basic system installation and configuration, formatting and mounting
disks or partitions, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
* Has a solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; understands
devices, what device drivers do, disk and filesystem concepts (inode, block,
clustering, logical partitions, logical volume managers).
* Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment
concepts; Knowledge of protocols such as NFS and CIFS;can use nslookup or dig
to check information in the DNS; understands basic routing concepts.
* Ability to write scripts in some administrative language is a plus (Perl,
Python, etc..).
* For male candidates, completion of military service is a plus.
* Living in Anatolian side of İstanbul is a plus.
İş Tanımı:
One to two years of experience with a Unix-based operating system such as
Linux, Solaris, etc.. and some knowledge of Windows.
Desirable Background and Skills:
A degree in computer science, electronical engineering or a related field.
Appropriate Responsibilities:
* Receives general instructions for new responsibilities from
supervisor.
* Provide Day-To-Day support
* This includes: Performing periodic system health checks, Hardware
installs and upgrade, configuration of Netapp Devices and
Backup softwares
in accordance with internal best practices.
* Provide proactive recommendations to the customers for improving storage
& backup operations.
* Provisioning of storage allocations based on standardized procedures as
outlined in internal documents, capacity management, maintaining
availability, data migrations, performance analysis and management
* Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster
recovery plans. Participates in the design and operational execution of the
customer's storage disaster recovery process.
