_*Key Accountabilities/Main Duties*_
• Integrate the European Internet data center and infrastructure team
• Administer Linux servers on a VMware virtualization setup
• Administer ESX servers (3.x & vSphere)
• Support applications and users in a fast pace environment
• Pro-actively monitor the different systems and propose mitigation
solutions
• Part of an international team setup supporting production systems
• Part of 24x7 standby team
Reporting to the Senior Manager / IT Infrastructure Services based in
Brussels the System Administrator is expected to:
• Graduate in Computer and Science with 2 to 5 years experience as
system administrator in a Linux or UNIX environment.
• Good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English
_*Specific IT Knowledge / Systems:*_
• Operating Systems:
Linux (SuSe enterprise); (including linux HA, ocfs2 storage clustering,
NFS, Lustre shared file system)
• Applications:
Apache, Lighttpd, Tomcat, Jetty, PHP
• Networking skills:
Hands-on TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting in a Microsoft Windows
networking environment
• Familiar with HP servers and VMware environments
