customers in EMEA and worldwide to resolve requiring your wide-ranging

Work location is Oracle's Ankara office.
*Brief Description*
As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver
post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while
serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving
post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic
means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and
troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of
contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer
relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to
internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated
issues.
*Detailed Description *
As a Support Engineer, you will be the technical interface to customers,
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs)
for resolution of problems related to the installation, recommended
maintenance and use of Oracle products. Your primary task will be to
provide support to customers who contact the Oracle Solution Center and
maintain high level of customer satisfaction while meeting guidelines
(mostly through electronic means). Able to work with general guidance
from senior support engineers and management and, in some areas, may
work independently. Solutions often take time to develop through
research, collaboration or problem replication.
*Job Requirements *
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role
largely independently within defined policies and procedures. One year
prior working experience with Oracle products (or at least two years
related experience without Oracle products) and technical degree i.e.,
BS Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Science/
Engineering/Math/Physics/Chemistry with a 3.0 GPA OR functional degree +
technical higher degree or in lieu of degree may substitute 4 years
professional experience & professional certification (i.e., CNE, MCSE,
CPA, Oracle, etc.).
*Requirements*
* BS/MS Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Science/
Engineering/Math/Physics
* Solid knowledge of the Linux Operating System and components to be
used in large data centers
* Extensive experience managing Linux servers in production environments
* 2+ year experience providing support (in form of customer support,
system administration/management) or relevant
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Outstanding spoken and written communications skills in English.
* Outstanding learning skills without requirement of hands-on experience
* A desire to serve customers with a passion.
* A desire to be a team player within a virtual community
* A mind to perceive and understand policies and processes with
reasons behind it.
* Competency to manage multiple priorities under high workload with
minimal supervision
* Ability to extrapolate acquired knowledge to different
configurations and environments
* Sound time management skills
* Proven skills in solving complex problems
* Understanding of and experience on virtualization technologies
*Responsibilities:*
* Remote technical support using phone, email, web applications on
Oracle Linux, Oracle VM for x86, Oracle Virtual Compute Appliance
(OVCA), Exadata, Exalogic, Exalytics, Oracle Database Appliance and
similar to customers worldwide
* Handling, chasing customers for updates, proactive problem perception
* Customers will look up to you for assistance in addressing their
needs in a timely, professional manner.
* Filing, tracking product defect reports
* Requesting and tracking enhancement requests
* Writing documents for the knowledge base, tracking and processing
the comments on them.
* Linux skills to include: kernel internals, system configuration,
networking, hardware support, performance diagnostics, handling
hangs & crashes and much more...
* Oracle VM skills to include: installation, management, complete set
of features, configuration, certification, diagnosis, troubleshooting,
* Continually exercise and grow your diverse skills as you deliver the
highest quality support possible to customers
