Using Linux in an NT based network

Hi,

I'm trying to use a linux box in an NT based network.
there is a pdc and a proxy server in the net.
resource sharing is managed by the NT PDC .

my questions are:
1.how can i login to the PDC to gain access to net resources?
2.how can i use the proxy server? is there a proxy client for linux?
3.can i browse the network neighbourhood from linux? how?
