The Lexmark Optra E310 is an 8 pages per minute black and white postscript laser printer. I believe that there is a possibility to make it a network printer. In the US, one can get it for even $370. Lexmark's suggested price for the final customer in the USA is $400. From what I understand, in Europe it can be bought for about $410. The Israeli distributer is Getter LTD. Their sales person, Gily, told me that they are planning to offer it with Hebrew support for about $540, VAT excluded. The price for merchants will be about $450. These prices are not final, but that seems to be their current plan. If I got it right, a major consideration in determining this price is that this price seems reasonable in view of the specs of the printer and the prices of other printers on the market. I would like to suggest that members of this group would call or email Getter, telling them that as users and administrators of Linux and Unix machines, a good and relatively cheap laser postscript printer with Hebrew support might interest them a lot. Gily's toll free number is 1-800-60-30-90. An email address that I am aware of for mailing such a letter is Avner Traub <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. BTW: I am curious about the power of this group as a customers group. There for, I also suggest that every one who will talk or email Getter will email me a note that he did so. In this way I will be able to post the group the number of requests that Getter got. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
