(before I even begin, note there's a XFree HOWTO that may help you
more than I will here). Now:

If you have the detailed monitor specs (like you do), the model
doesn't matter (though once you find out, consider mailing the
XFree maintainers the details!)

Try using XF86Setup (you may have to install it), and dropping
Xconfigurator altogether. In case that doesn't work..

Xconfigurator probably does not ask about your video RAM because
it autodetects it on some models. Check the generated XF86Config
file (usually /etc/X11/XF86Config) to see if it got it right.
Also you may want to update the HorizSync and VertRefresh lines
in case Xconfigurator was a little too conservative.

If you aren't satisfied with all this, read the XFree86 Video
Timings HOWTO, sleep, read it again, and hack away. Remember that
ctrl-alt-backspace can save your monitor.
