the following is a work-around, not an answer to "why this problem occures
in the first place" (even thought you're right - he shouldn't have tried
doing what he did, the way he did). technically, and according to the
manual page, this should work, and sounds like a crond bug. or it is
possible that he used a tab instead f a space somewhere, and this confused
crond?
