Since everyone has, I will too. I very much recommend Tera Term. It's
very configurable, and it's one of the few Windows applications that
come with source (albeit not under an open-source license or anything
resembling one). There's also an extension called TTSSH, which adds
ssh support. It also comes with source (open-source this time; the
Artistic license). Check it out.

Linux and other Open Source advocates are making a progressively more
credible argument that Open Source software is at least as robust --
if not more -- than commercial alternatives. The Internet provides an
ideal, high-visibility showcase for the Open Source world.
