Hi,
You didn't mention which distribution you use (Redhat? Slackware?
Debian? SuSE?), so I'll give a general answer.
Basically, if you have redhat 6.0 - you could upgrade your XFree files
to version 3.3.4 which supports S3 TRIO 3D (I had installed it to one of
my friends who had an IBM Laptop with this chip).
Unfortunetly, Rehdat didn't included in their updates server the XFree
3.3.4.
So what you could do is goto ftp.xfree86.org to
/pub/XFree86/3.3.4/binaries/Linux-ix86-glibc/Servers and grab the file
XS3.tgz, untar the file, put the file in /usr/X11R6/bin, and link X to
this server..
I know it's a nasty hack, but it works pretty well for me..
Thanks
Hetz
