Best way is to say "linux init=/bin/sh" at the boot prompt. "linux" here
is your kernel image name, so substitute on need. Note, though, that you
will be on copmletely "naked" environment - no filesystems mounted except
root read-only, no environment set up, no programs run - nothing.
