That's pure disinfo It's not officially supported yet , but since I delt with the same problem today , here's how it went: you have to create a unix account named machinename$ (substitude the machinename 4 whatever you want , but '$' got to stay lowercase is mandatory two) then do smbpasswd -a -m machinename$ (encrypted passwords got to be enabled on the server.) Then you just join the domain , without creating a machine account Then it either works or it doesn't :) As I said - it's not an official support yet But i did find out how to do it in the FAQz on sambas homepage. P.S. It worked for me on version 2.0.5a Cheers > >rizvi inamdar wrote: > > > hi > > > > i am having one problem with loging on windows NT workstation to linux > > samba server. > > at the time of installing winnt workstation if i say domain it give an > > error create computer account in domain. > > kindly help me how to logon to domain from winnt Workstation at the > > present i am loging locally and connecting to linux domain > > > > reply on > > > > ================================================================= > > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > > the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command > > echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > >================================================================= >To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with >the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command >echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
