It's always the worst time to release a new distro.

When you whip mature components, you get flogged for not shipping the brand
new XXX v19.00 just going out within hours, which is a whole world compared to
the ancient XXX v18.99 .

When you ship with brand new components, you get flogged for using programs
which haven't been thorouly tested, and hence MUST be unstable.

As for RedHat, as far as I remember, the X.2 were always the last version
before the (X+1).0 product... and were always the most stable.
IIRC, it was RedHat 5.0 which shipped with Kernel 2.0, and 6.0 shipped with
kernel 2.2 . Obviously Redhat 7.0 would ship with Kernel 2.4 .

Then RedHat 7.0 will have kernel 2.4, KDE 2.0 (final version), and the new
GNOME user interface (forgot it's name), and maybe Netscape 6.0 or Mozilla
1.0.

As for SQL, those that really need it are usually the ones which don't really
care if it's in the distro or not, as they would have recompiled it themselves
hours after it was released.
