Lucent LTmodems are supported - via vendor - supplied drivers.
The same for PCTEL modems.
Generally, those modems are not supported because of several reasons :
- Hardware vendors are VERY reluctant to provide the specifications
- Each and every such software modem uses some UNIQUE protocol
