Mandrake seems to have a problem with the IDE CD-Writers - partially
implemented things. They say it's worst of all to do things partially -
either do all the thing or don't do it at all.
/dev/cdrom2 must be symbolic link. Which file does it link to? It must link
to smth. like scd?, if it is not so - ln -sf /dev/scd? /dev/cdrom2.
I'm not sure, which is the correct scd number. Try performing 'cdrecord
-scanbus', your cd-writer must come first in the list - then it is scd0.
If that doesn't help, please post your lilo.conf and output of cdrecord
-scanbus, I'll try to help.
