check this site for hardware reviews for linux. http://www.linuxhardware.org/ My suggestion is that you make a list of hardware parts for your computer with the precise model number for each hardware firm and then search in the site or similar sites for the hardware you are going to purchase to discover if there are known problems with that particular hardware.
