Ira, I am sure you like GAIM, but as is the case with large user databases, Most won't even know what you are talking about, and as you can learn from Microsoft... when being offered an "UPDATE", most user d/l whatever clickable ;). Anyway, I personally prefer icq IN windows, but that's only me. But you got to ask yourself, if AOL will join the fray, will it make users like yours truly be fully converted to Linux? I mean, you know how this works. a large company thinks it has a killer app, it makes alliances and hammer it to its vision. Its more like, even if you use mandrake, you still have to do some tuning which are harder and more difficult to reach than in windows. I think GNOME and KDE (though they need much-much-much less) should take a gui engineer(for gnome-at last, for kde - again) because the market needs for a desktop oriented Linux dist changed. In fact, might I dare say, it should look like windows 95/98 (not xp, brrrr....*a chill just went down my spine*).
note: I don't move completely to Linux because as chance wanted I started using outlook long ago and all my mail archives are in it. And I need them for work related reasons. and my documents and my act appointments and other things that are so convenient and "CLICKABLE"!. For me, linux is still just a networking/security/web/work/server reliable machine. shame on me! :) * - * - * Tzahi Fadida [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fax (+1 Outside the US) 240-597-3213 * - * - * - * - * - * -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ira Abramov Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 5:47 PM Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: RedHat vs AOL On Mon, 21 Jan 2002, Geoffrey S. I'm sure it does great as AIM as well. -- Your milage may vary Ira Abramov ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================================To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
