Have you managed to load the modules from those drivers?

Downgrading the kernel may be a bit drastic step, considering the fact
that you are downgrading to 2.4.<very low> . However, it should satisfy
those drivers, to the best of my humble understanding.

What errors did you get?

how is your hard disk partitioned?

The output of 'fdisk -l ' could help
