Hi, I'm using Gaim 0.52 which I compiled from CVS. It's really great - it supports MSN, Jabber, ICQ, IRC, Yahoo and has tons of useful plugins.
I've tried recently quite a few clients - Gabber, KMerlin, Konverse - but this is the best I've found. If you use GNOME you should be all set, but if you use KDE, like I do, there is a little app, called ksystrayproxy (in kdenonbeta) that will force Gaim to sit in KDE system tray. If you want a spec file or the RPMS (RedHat 7.2) I've made for myself, I can post them to you and anyone else interested.
