Maybe this is because my ~/.gtkrc has:
style "gtk-default-he" {
fontset = "-*-helvetica-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-8,\
-*-*-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-8"
}
class "GtkWidget" style "gtk-default-he"
or because /etc/gtk/etcrc.he on my system has a similar content.
