loadlin will not work for me here.
this is a single hard drive, devided to 2 partitions : 2gb fat 16, and 4gb 
NTFS.
if i locate the install packages on the hard drive, i cannot format it for 
linux.
i didnt want to get into the minamal install and upgrading, but looks like i 
dont have a choice.
btw - i also found RH7.0 install cd's (bootable), does this change the 
picture? is there a parameter that lilo can get and boot into the the net 
image ? which i guess is located also on teh 7.0 cd.

if there is such an option, then this is something i can use.
