I believe you got a bit mixed up: conference call just "layer" two phone
lines into one, so you could speak with several people at the same
time, creating even more confusion then usual. I used to patch the
wires of two seperate phone lines, creating the same effect, without
shelling the 12 NIS/month to Bezeq.
So you still got the bandwidth of a mundane phone call. If you could
make the server devote half of the available aural spectrom for one
computer, and half for the other one, you could do pull this off: each
modem will use half the phone line, sharing a single connection to the
server. But I don't think the hardware for such a hack exists.
