As stated somewhere on mozilla.org, the Mozilla project is not about creating a web browser, but creating a toolkit for creating browsers (as predicted by Zawinski's law). That is, Mozilla-the-browser is just a technology demonstartion, to test the new patches. One should actually take Gecko (and all other code he finds nifty), and use it to create a browser, and that browser should be used by the general public. This is due to the fact that the mozilla.org folks can't and won't provide end-user support. Wether that "We don't create browser but a toolkit" talk will stand, or will end-users will just use Mozilla-the-browser in the end, is a completely diffrent thing. > May be related: is there a way to set mailto: in webpages opened with > mozilla > will start mutt instead of mozilla's mail client ?
