Isn't compiling major packages like xfree and KDE takes a lot of time?
Do they get some kind of configuration so that one can run
   gentooConfigure
and get himself the executables or is he supposed to delve into READMEs =

and these sort of stuff? What about dependencies like pacakge1 has to be
compiled with gcc 2.95 while package2 must have a library that should be
compiled with gcc 3.1? =


Am I making things more complicated then what they are? Can the answers =

be obtained quickly and easily from their site or by doing a fast search
in the web?

Does someone here actually run a full gentoo distribution? What about
A light one?
