specially the last one ;)
if you are not into compiliing EVERYTHING from source, dont even think aoubt 
going there.
optimization is a good reason, but be prepared to spend a lot of night's in 
front of your computer, specialy the first one's.

i would go for debian, which is very easy to maintain, update and administer.
