I might be mixing some issues together but as far as I remember some
sites like ftp.tau.ac.il were not accessible to me until that back
resolving thing was fixed by my ISP. In fact TAU people even bothered to
print a welcome message in their ftp site that actually mentioned that
access is denied due to the back resolving matter. It is my
understanding that they consider back resolving an important security
issue and expect every one to have it.
