Can you do a mount /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom?

when I reboot the new Kernel everythng works fine besides the CD-R.
lspci shows the same output as the old kernel but running cdrecord
failes .
doing a cdrecord -scanbus failes also and exits .
Any ideas what can be missing ?
