Few weeks ago I had problems with Samba on RH7.3.
I RTFMed: /usr/share/doc/samba-2.2.3a/docs/textdocs/DIAGNOSIS.txt
Two things fixed my problems:
1. Adjustment of the firewall configuration at /etc/sysconfig/ipchains
2. In Windows 2000 hosts, with which I wanted to connect, the appropriate
registry entry was changed to enable unencrypted passwords.
At any case, the DIAGNOSIS.txt document mentioned above is Your Best
Friend (TM).
