Hi, After not succeeding in getting the FlyVideo2000 (saa7134) to work, I've decided to get a bt8** card - in the hope that it'll be more straightforward to set-up.
Excellnet has a Chronos Video Shuttle II w/ FM for a good price. I GOOGLED around and found that this card is supported - listed as card=35 in the bttv documentation. Plonter has a Hauppauge WinTV, and that manufacturer is also listed in the bttv documentation (although I'm not sure of the model so I don't know what card=). Not only that - the manufacturer's site has detailed Redhat and Suse installation instructions - definitely a good sign that they care about LINUX. Before I buy one of these cards, I'd like to know if anyone has used either one and if it works properly in Israel. I'm connected to Arutzey Zahav, if that makes any difference. BTW - many of the sites I looked at, in my search for info about TV card in general and the bt8** and saa7134 chips claimed that the saa7134 gives a better quality picture, but of course that doesn't help me since I haven't been able to get it to work :-( -- Shlomo Solomon http://come.to/shlomo.solomon Sent by KMail (KDE 3.0.3) on LINUX Mandrake 9.0 ================================================================To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
