I use virtual desktops, in the "ctwm" window manager. It's not exactly what you asked for, but in my experience it is better. The concept of virtual desktops is much more powerful, in my opinion than the concept of icons (which I use for other things). Instead of iconizing together a group of windows (like paper-clipping them), I instead move that bunch of windows into a separate "virtual desktop". Ctwm also includes a nice visual "panner", where you see tiny images of what your virtual desktops contain (icluding even names of the windows, in tiny font). I Typically read mail on one desktop, have a mozilla open on another, do work stuff on two more, and so on. I can switch from desktop to desktop in a single key click (or mouse click). Some things (like clock, ICQ, etc.) follow me to whatever virtual desktop I'm currently at. -- Nadav Har'El | Wednesday, Jan 15 2003, 13 Shevat 5763 [EMAIL PROTECTED] |----------------------------------------- Phone: +972-53-245868, ICQ 13349191 |You do not need a parachute to skydive. http://nadav.harel.org.il |You only need one to skydive twice. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
