I saw this site (http://m-arriaga.net/software/newdocms/) about a new, non hierarchical way to organize files, and am intrigued.
I would like something similar for organizing texts, but not as separate files, rather as notes in a kjots type of "book". Except that kjots does not allow for specifying much metadata, and definitely not relationships, which is exactly the strength of newdocs. I came accross thoughttracker (http://www.stud.tu-ilmenau.de/~gomar/stuff/thoughttracker/) which does allow relationships to be defined, but not intuitively, nor does it allow to specify much metadata. Plus, it doesn't do Hebrew. Do list members know of other such projects that have already produced something useable? The next step would be to produce good export formats. Since the material is non hierarchical, it cannot just be printed or exported to a linear format. Instead, it must allow for gereating reports. Ideally I would like the possibility to export a javascript and html document, so that I can send a multidimensional report to any recipient who doesn't have the software. I am sure nobody wrote that yet, but it would help if the project were extensible in perl or some other rapid scripting language. Ideas?
