Hi, If you use the XFS fonts server, then make sure the directory is included there...
If you're using FontPath inside /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file - then make sure you have this path included... Oh, there were some security issues with X. I would suggest to upgrade to XFree 4.2.1..
