I happen to have the same problem just with IMPS/2 (I have a USB Inteli Mouse explorer mouse). When I put it on PS/2 it just goes crazy in one of the screen's corner. No wheel. When I ran 'kudzu' it just made it worst. When I had RH it automatically recognized the wheel but now in Debian I can't make it work. Googling returned nothing but people using YaxisZaxis to use the side buttons as down/up wheel.
