For those who didn't follow, the Israeli Linux community has organized to protest an incorrect statement in Ha'aretz newspaper (more info here: http://www.whatsup.co.il/article.php?sid=1496 and here: http://www.hamakor.org.il/position.html).
We received dozens of responses from you, the community members, which disproves the common claim that Israelis don't know how to organize to protest against wrongdoing. We received almost 30 personal emails sent to "Ha'aretz" in protest. Such a large number of responses in such a short time is likely to move Ha'aretz from its current indifference. In order to exploit the momentum, Ira is already working on trying to set up a meeting with the "Captain Internet" crew to demonstrate a live working, fully Hebrew system. We ask you to keep up the good work. Please keep on sending responses to Ha'aretz (if you haven't done so already) and/or to Captain Internet directly: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Also, please let us know ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) whenever encountering such wrongdoings in the future. We would like to take this opportunity and thank all of those who helped us in the process: Yuval, Amir, Dan, Shlomi, Genadi, Idan, Nadav, Guy, Itay, Barak, Yehuda, Ohad, z9u2k, Doron, Orr, Meir, Zeev, Eran, Amos, Gil, Guy, Shlomi t., Aviad, Elad, Eli, Ayal,Gui and Milo for taking the time to send "Captain Internet" a well explained, well written and always dignified response. A huge thank you to Yuval Sapir who set this process into motion, and also to the dozens of responders in whatsup who made their voices heard. More thanks to the Tapuz Linux forum and all the others who helped, suggested, and supported. Did you respond, support or protest? We want to know about it! Please notify [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that we can supply accurate statistics and help you amplify your voice. Hamakor will continue and raise public awareness to Linux, in addition to correcting common misunderstandings and prejudice in the public media - and we are doing it with your help. -- - Aviram ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
