On my display:
xdpyinfo |grep XKEY
XKEYBOARD
Anyway, my current Xkx settings (an XFree convention, I believe):
xprop -root |grep _XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc101", "il_43_backproted","lyx",
"grp:shift_toggle,lvl3:switch,grp_led:scroll"
I'm using XFree4.21 here, BTW.
Use the command setxkbmap to change this at the X server runtime.
