the .so files on both cases have different extensions. (libc-2.2.x.so vs. libc-2.3.2). However, the problem will be the main libc.so symbolic link. (You'll have to decide who gets the main symbolic link)
Forgive my stupid question... but why not upgrade to RH9 and save the trouble?
