I tried what Shlomi Fish had suggested, installed sndconfig and run it. It said this sound module is not yet supported, it is strange since lsmod responded that there is a module named via82cxxx_audio loaded.
Following is the relevant part of lsmod output: [EMAIL PROTECTED] /]# lsmod | grep snd snd-seq-midi 5024 0 (autoclean) (unused) snd-seq-oss 31104 0 (unused) snd-seq-midi-event 5640 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss] snd-seq 42608 2 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event] snd-pcm-oss 43556 1 snd-mixer-oss 14488 0 [snd-pcm-oss] snd-via82xx 14092 1 snd-ac97-codec 40160 0 [snd-via82xx] snd-pcm 77536 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-via82xx] snd-timer 18376 0 [snd-seq snd-pcm] snd-mpu401-uart 4396 0 [snd-via82xx] snd-rawmidi 17600 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-mpu401-uart] snd-seq-device 5832 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq snd-rawmidi] snd-page-alloc 7732 0 [snd-via82xx snd-pcm] snd 40868 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-via82xx snd-ac97-codec snd-pcm snd-timer snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device] soundcore 6276 0 [snd] I previously installed on the same mother board Mandrake Linux 9.1 and it did work so I assume that the Mandrake Kernel support this sound module. -- Ori Idan (This mail was sent using Kmail running on Mandrake GNU/Linux) ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
