I had the same problem on my kpilot just about forever. Then (around earlier this week), I saw it suddenly being fixed when doing the routine apt-get upgrade. I am using the KDE CVS version (deb version: kpilot 3.2.0-0+cvs200) so I don't know if there's a standard way to upgrade it on Mandrake. But you can always compile kpilot from sources.
