BTW, does it trouble only myself, that for the whole week since the issue was publically raised, NOBODY from WICC joined the discussion on either side? Especially given that I know for sure that a few WICC employees are subscribed and/or browse the list periodically, since (I'm risking to reveal a huge secret), there are at least a couple of Linux servers in WICC plus countless workstations spread around the campus. Or are public discussions/sharings of views are discouraged to _that_ degree??
Let's face it - you have started the discussion at such a stage, and with so much frustration, that them joining in would have been most unlikely.
Seems like we use the word "them" for different things. Please let me stress again that I in no way generalize the WICC as a whole. I believe I earlier used expression "person(s) in charge" to underline my understanding of the situation, i.e. the number of people who, literally speaking, put(s) thumb up or down at his/her/their will is very close to one. Thusly, my frustration didn't extend past the boundaries of this specific group.
