Hi all, I've been going nuts for nothing over this hebrew thing. The iglu site contains a mistake in the http://iglu.org.il/faq/cache/86.html
the group(switch) shows twice in the section of the XFree version 3 XF86Config file changes (XkbSymbols): was - XkbSymbols "us(pc101)+il+group(switch)+group(shift_toggle)+group(switch)" should be - XkbSymbols "us(pc101)+il+group(shift_toggle)+group(switch)" Apparently it caused the strangest kind of problems like backspace gone, scroll lock not operating setxkbmap seg faulting. Whoever is in charge of it, please fix it for future uses. 10x, to anyone who tried to help. > -----Original Message----- > From: Tzahi Fadida [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, October 17, 2003 5:53 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: setxkbmap _XKB_RULES_NAMES property > > > I am having a strange problem with setxkbmap. > when i run it with or without parameters i get this message: > Couldn't interpret _XKB_RULES_NAMES property > user defaults: rules - 'xfree86' model - 'pc101' layout - 'us' > Segmentation fault > > I don't use the xserver-xfree, i use the xserver-svga which is v3. > its a debian system - woody i just installed recently. > My original purpose is to write in hebrew in text mode using vim or > anything similar. > > anyone has a clue? > I googled and found nothing that could explain this. > > * - * - * > Tzahi Fadida > MSc Student > Information System Engineering Area > Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Management > Technion - Israel Institute of Technology > Technion City, Haifa, Israel 32000 > Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Technion Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * > > WARNING TO SPAMMERS: see at > http://members.lycos.co.uk/my2nis/spamwarning.html ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
