I think that the subject has already been discussed, but things change all the time so I am raising this question again. Given that MS-Outlook interoperability is not needed but its features are needed:
For E-mail, Mozilla can be used. I routinely use version 1.4 and am happy with it. I even configured it to launch AbiWord rather than OpenOffice when it is necessary to view MS-Word *.doc documents (man plugger, /etc/pluggerrc).
However, what about the scheduling and calendar features of MS-Outlook?
Depending on your needs: X based, PIM with free/busy information sharing: Ximian Evolution korganizer Mozilla Calendar
Web Based: phpgroupware tutos phprojekt OpenGroupware
All of the above have issues with hebrew and jewish holidays.
I use tutos. It has a rather bizzare interface, but I feel it has a better design then other.
I am following OpenGroupeware, which seems to have the most interesting future, aspecially when looking into interoperability - things such as Palm sync, free/busy publication to desktop applications (such as Ximian). It suffers from the same shortcomming almost all schedulaing applications have: it's euro-centric - Workdays/holidays settings, time zones and storing hebrew information.
