And that being different from your situation where you need a kernel source tree of the version you want, in what way ?
In the way that it would make me dependent on finding a .srpm file for the kernel I want to compile.
But anyway - the point is apparently mute since, as Olge has pointed out, the vanilla source tree already contains the Make target to create RPM's.
