  You might try and ask the vendor. I believe it worth asking in any
case in order to spread the word that there are many Linux users and 
that they do need Linux friendly hardware. It might also worth at 
that point to ask for the return policy of this vendor. Perhaps they can
help you get the interface specifications of this hardware?
  Have you tried to search google groups? I found that dropping you into
a *linux* related newsgroups sometimes makes the results more effective.
