I gave simillar hardware (Compaq Evo). For a start, you'll need a newer
kernel. I'd go with 2.4.24 (prefer ck patchset) or 2.6.1 for better support.
If you can find a package for mandrake, good, otherwise it's a DIY.

Go with the newer kernels and you'll be fine.

Newer kernels handle it just fine (ieee1394 nad ohci1394 modules here).

Don't know abot that.

Seems common over the net, searching google turns lots of simillar lspci's.
This is usually where AGP should be (like RS200 on mine). Maybe newer kernels
will be better there. The last post on the IGP-340 bug in xfree's bugzilla
(see answer to question 5) mentions that one.

This is is the the most problematic. You can use the normal radeon driver for
2D. For 3D it is more problematic. There are patches in xfree-drm's cvs for
that, but you'll need to build X, and it's still not working very well (or
you can ask from someone to send you a binary driver for xfree 4.3, I don't
have one, snooping around and asking in Gentoo's forums will probably dig one
for you), just be sure to get AGP working.

The 3D driver probably won't make it into xfree 4.4.0 release. Right now the
closest esitmate is for 4.4.1, for more info:

If newer kernels won't solve that, maybe it's a problem with MDK's
supermount ?

There are links on the detailing the procedure, google will help. Hadn't got
the chance to test it. You can test it with pilot-link (since that's what
kpilot relies upon) from the command line for more details.
