I guess that root will not be able to login to an X session either. Assuming that the error is that the xhost command is not found, you can install xbase-clients. However I fail to see how installing xlibs, which seemed only to install stuff, is the cause for this error. Perhaps libranet is making more substantial modifications then we expect it to? Can you tell what version of xlibs got installed by libranet? Is there an option to upgrade the system to testing?
