Shalom Efraim, Sorry, I was very busy and I did not have time to write to MandrakeClub, I will do it tomorrow morning.
Thanks very much for the offer. Right now, I hope this workaround should be good enough. It looks like the third disk will also be too big. I searched on the cdrecord archives and it seems that some drives (they mentioned Sony) can only write 77 min. (about 675 MB). I was thinking about the difference between Nero and cdrecord, and I noticed that cdrecord says that it wrote 697 MB, and only when it starts fixating it hits the I/O error. Perhaps Nero does the writing and fixating in one step, and the drive allows it to continue, whereas cdrecord sends a new instruction which the drive refuses to obey.
If you find out anything else, please tell me.
Thank you again.
Ephraim
I upgraded The cdrecord of my old Mdk92, with cdrecord-2.01-0.a25.1mdk.i586.rpm,
which I downloaded from rpmfind.net. Now the burning of all the 3 CD s of the
new version of Mandrake92 work fine, either with the aid of K3b, or directly
from the command line of cdrecord.
Looks as if the problem was solved, for me anyway. :-)
