Suggested XML development environment

Hi list,   Recently I was asked about XML development suite for Linux. Requested features are: XML validation, XML schema development, XSL development (not including FO), debugging, profiling, XPath/XQuery evaluation.   Emacs does not seem to be an immediate option.
