I remember once, that someone here posted a name of a ssh-client java application. I
am looking for one that can be used as an applet in an web site (much easier then installing putty on every windows box I visit, dont you think?)

Mindterm perhaps?
From the deb package: "Mindterm is a ssh client written in java that can be used as a web applet. This package installs it so it will be available on your web site; users can then ssh into the system from most web browsers that have java support."
