Openwebmail - I think it's THE best solution. Some features that it has:
I didn't see any support for virtual hosts or reading mail from a remote server. The other web servers achieve this by using IMAP to connect to the server actually holding the mail, and reading mail there. I did not see such an option for openwebmail.
Other than that, it does indeed seem like the best one I've seen so far.
