Well, I had a desktop setup in mind. Now that I re-read the original
question I see that it didn't state the intended use of the
installation.
If you are talking about servers then there is place to partition
things, and I saved Shachar's recommandations for later use.
Still many times I see that people partition too much and without
enough design even for servers (e.g. taking RH's installer's default
settings) and then get stuck with too much space in one partition and
not enough on another partition - by large - I mean tens of Gb of
wasted space (as just happened on our CVS server at work, our sys admin
is not exactly a unix guru).
