I actually looked a bit, and this isn't the reason. The reason is that
it's not in GNU gzip, it's an external patch which is probably applied
by most distributions (RedHat/Fedora and Debian included), but noone
cares to patch the manpage. grep for rsync under /usr/share/doc/gzip of
your favourite distro if you want.
